The 2023 Trails4Transplants (T4T) South Dakota Saga trail ride started May 30th with riders and crew setting up camp at the Renville County Fairgrounds, Mohall, ND. Day 1 started with a wonderful breakfast at the Mohall EMS hall, followed by a swing by the local care center for a few songs, before riding 12 miles down the road to Renville Corner, ND with 13 riders, and 11 support crew. On the second day of the ride, June 1st, we started at Renville Corner, ND and rode 13 miles to Farfor, ND with 18 riders and 11 support staff. That evening we stopped by the Elison Assisted Living center in Minot, ND for a sing along and a supper. On June 2, we started our ride at Farfor, ND and again rode 14 miles to Ruthville, ND with 14 riders and 7 support staff. That evening we had a silent auction at North Dakota State Fairgrounds. The final day, June 3rd we rode 12 miles from Ruthville, ND to North Dakota State Fairgrounds with 15 riders and 6 support personnel. Overall we logged 766 horse miles and raised $17,000.00. For the past 11 years we have logged over 2525 miles, over 51,000 horse miles and raised over $360,000.00 in donations.
Once again in November 2023, Trails4Transplant supported the Donate Life Tree during the ND Hall of Trees – a Christmas tree display at the ND capitol that draws in thousands of visitors. This tree honored organ, eye, and tissue donors as well as recognizing North Dakota transplant recipients who have been blessed to receive these life-saving gifts. Families can create an ornament in honor of their loved one.
