Day 1, Tuesday, May 30
Early arrivals, set up, and fellowship at Renville County Fairgrounds in Mohall. The Fairgrounds are located west of the RR tracks on the south side of Highway 5. (Take the second approach west of the RR tracks). The campgrounds are located at the south end of the fairgrounds. The barn marked 4-H Livestock is available for the horses, the quonset marked Small Animals is available for gathering. The campground has 20 sites, ten with electric, sewer, and water ($25/night) and ten with electric and water ($20/night). There is free access to the showers/restroom. There is a sewer dump and fresh water. The sites are first-come, first served, so we can’t reserve sites. There is a water hydrant at the barn and near the bathhouse, and the campground has water. The Prairie Bistro is located 1 mile west and ½ mile South of the fairgrounds (9243 38 th Ave NW) and will have a meal and gathering place for us at 7:00 PM. Some may want to ride there.
Day 2, Wednesday May 31
Leave from the Renville County Fairgrounds at 8:30 AM. We will ride to the Fire hall where they will serve a pancake breakfast. We will then proceed to the nursing home and Sue will lead us in a couple cowboy songs. We will follow Highway 5 east 12 miles to the Junction of Hwy 83 (Renville Corner). There is a restaurant there with great food and plenty of space to gather. We will haul horses back to Mohall for the night. An Evening meal will be provided by Gooseneck Implement. Support crew will assist in moving trailers. Double J’s Bar and Grille is located on Hwy 5 and is available later for gathering
.Day 3, Thursday, June 1
Leave at 8:30 AM, haul horses to the Renville Corner and leave Renville Corner at 9:00 AM and ride south 13 miles along Hwy 83 to CR 30 (80 th ST NW). We will then load and haul horses to the Minot Assisted Living facility located at the Jct of 10 th ST SW and 35 th Ave SW, arriving at 6:00 PM. We can park and unload horses on the east side of the facility. We will sing a few songs and greet the residents, after which the group will provide a supper for us. After the supper, we will load and drive to the ND state fairgrounds in Minot. Route will be North on Hwy 83 to Burdick Expressway, East to 27 th St., North to 4 th Ave and west to the fairground entrance. The route to the fairgrounds from Ruthville (in case some do not wish to participate in the assisted living activity) is east 2 miles on CR 8 (128 th Ave NE), south 10 miles on CR 19 (27 th St NE), west ¾ miles on 4 th Ave NE (just south of the RR tracks) to the main fairgrounds entrance. Horse barns are located southwest of the pavilion. The barn marked Horses 1 has
stalls and is available for our use. There are also bathroom facilities available. We are booked for June 1, 2,
and 3. Fees are $15.00 per stall per night, and $25.00 for camping fee. There are camping hookups close to the horse barn. We need to have all stalls cleaned before we leave. A dumpster and wheelbarrow are
available for our use.
Day 4, Friday, June 2
Pastor Mark Ellingson will be on site to give a morning prayer and devotion at 8:30. Horses should be loaded and ready to leave from the Minot Fairgrounds immediately after the morning prayer. Unload at CR 30 and ride south (starting at 9:00 AM) 14 miles along Hwy 83 to Ruthville. Gather and stage at the parking lot of Pink’s Bar and Grille (west side of the ARCO Convenience store). There is a restaurant and game room for the youngsters and adult beverages at the bar. Load horses there and return to the state fairgrounds in Minot for the night.
Day 5, Saturday June 3
Load horses and haul to Ruthville. (Leave the Fairgrounds at 8:30 AM, unload in Pinks Parking lot, start the ride from Ruthville at 9:00 AM, and ride 2 miles east on CR8 (128 th Ave NE), 10 miles south on CR 19 (27 th ST NE), ¾ miles west on 4 th Ave NE to the main Fairgrounds entrance. A permit has
been obtained and traffic control (if necessary) will be provided by the Minot Police Department.
A silent auction and fellowship evening will follow. Doug and Econ will make supper this night. The silent auction will close at 8:00 PM.
Day 6 Sunday, June 4
Load up, clean stalls, and head for home. Another 51 miles to add to our epic journey!
