2014 Ride

Where: From Fort Lincoln State Park in Mandan, ND to Little Bighorn Battlefield in Garryowen, MT. ‘Healing along the Custer Trail’ was the second leg of a 2000 mile journey.

  • 444 miles
  • 19 days of riding
  • Covered 2 states: North Dakota and Montana
  • Over 90 riders and 15 volunteers participated
  • Representatives of the Lakota, Dakota, Mandan, Hadatsa, Arikara, Crow, and Northern Cheyenne nations participated to bring awareness to their tribes
  • 8,200 horseback miles were logged
  • 16 towns- Mandan, ND; New Salem, ND; Glen Ullin, ND; Taylor, ND; Dickinson, ND; Belfield, ND; Medora, ND; Beach, ND; Wibaux, MT; Baker, MT; Ismay, MT; Miles City, MT; Hathaway, MT; Rosebud, MT; Busby, MT; Garryowen, MT
  • 1,200 Facebook Followers
  • Data from website, Facebook page, newspapers, radio stations and other media sources showed over 55, 000 people received the message of donation
  • $30,444 donated to the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, MN used to:
    • Remodel the kitchen in the 705 2nd Street house
    • Support the Trails4Transplants Campfire Fund, which helps provide fellowship meals for recipients and their caregivers
  • $1,500 donated to Our Living Legacy – a donor tribute and donation education wall at Altru Health Systems, Grand Forks, ND
